Madonna has a new album to promote, which means it's as good a time as any to shake a few skeletons out of the closet for media attention. Boy, did she pick a doozy.
During her interview with Howard Stern yesterday, the Rebel Heart singer revealed this juicy tidbit: She and Tupac Shakur once dated. Let's just let that sink in a bit.
Apparently, the romance went down sometime around 1994. Madonna didn't give Stern the specifics, but she did cite the late rapper, who died in 1996, as the influence behind her bad behavior on late-night TV during that time.
"I was mad at [David Letterman] when I said the F-word a lot," the pop star said in reference to her potty-mouthed 1994 appearance on The Late Show. "I was in a weird mood that day. I was dating Tupac Shakur at the time and the thing is he got me all riled up about life in general. So when I went on the show I was feeling very gangsta."
Oh, yes. So very "gangsta." Alas, the fling didn't last, and the rest, as they say, is music history. Makes you wonder though, right?
