Hollywood's favorite multi-hyphenate James Franco gave the pop star a run for her money recently, when he posted an almost-nude selfie of himself on the photo-sharing site. Rihanna was in hot water earlier this week after she posted a pic revealing her nipples, earning a stern warning from the selfie overlords. Franco, too, showed his nipple, but teased a lot more by putting his hands down his underwear and leaving little to the imagination. The racy photo has since been deleted.
Earlier this week, the 36-year-old actor admitted to Howard Stern that he is something of an Instagram addict. It's an issue that stirred up controversy after Franco used the social-media tool to instigate a late-night rendezvous with a 17-year-old girl. At first, many people (us incuded) thought the incident was a promotional stunt for his upcoming movie Palo Alto, but Franco has since admitted that nothing about the affair was fabricated.
The star told Stern that while yes, he was actively trying to hook up with the girl, he was disturbed by the media's portrayal of him as something of a predator. "They make it like I’m perusing young woman,” he told the radio host. “I’m not going to high schools looking for dates. I’m leaving my work, and they’re coming there,” he elaborated. “I’m seeing attractive women. And, look, my fan base is, like, you know, 17-year-old to 30-year-old women — that’s my biggest fan base.”
While many celebrities go into hiding after mini-controversies like this one, we have to give props to Franco for being upfront about the incident, and taking the time to explain what really happened. Unfortunately, that won't stop us from posting his deleted Instagram because, come on, it's James Franco almost naked. (Huffington Post)
