Getting nominated for a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund is kind of like the American Idol of fashion — you show your skills off to a panel of judges, compete with one another in a series of events (in this case, they involve creating one-of-a-kind pieces for Tiffany & Co., as well as staging a runway show at the Chateau Marmont), and if you make the top three, you're pretty much guaranteed to become a household name.
