No offense to pink, a perfectly nice color, but we're looking for something a little less saccharine for our digits this Valentine's Day. Based on the influx of dark, burgundy-hued polishes currently hitting the shelves, we're not the only ones feeling the femme fatale urge: Blood red is clearly having a serious moment.
So what makes this macabre mani so very au courant? We credit Prabal Gurung and the dripping blood nails created by Sally Hansen for his spring '13 show. We took one look at those and all the polka dots, rainbows, and hearts we had dancing through our heads were swiftly left in the dust. What can we say? Sometimes a girl just wants to goth it up.
