Sara Ziff is one of the genuinely coolest, sweetest, brightest models we know, which is why we dashed to catch her film premiere, which she made with then-boyfriend Ole Schell. "It's a pretty terrifying thing, being both behind the camera and on camera," she told us at the GenArt Film Festival last night. The home-movie-style documentary, Picture Me, is a down-and-dirty insider's look at the world of modeling, which, surprise surprise, isn't all glossies and parties. There were plenty of fun appearances made by the likes of Lisa Cant, Missy Rayder, Irina Lazareanu, Tanya D, Cameron Russell, and even Kaiser Karl, but there were also lots of darker scenes—the weight/body issues, the loneliness, the human-turned-robot-syndrome that can only happen when you're being handled like a clothing hanger. Though Sara's since traded in billboards and magazines for higher education (she goes to Columbia), the film proved her star is far from burning out.
