Steven Meisel's New Editorial for Vogue Italia Feels Our Recession Pains

Even jet-setting photog Steven Meisel is feeling the pinch, as this month's Vogue Italia proves. To answer the call of tough times, he and super-stylist Karl Templer (who recently up-and-left Interview) put young face Darya Kurovska in a variety of street-smart and seemingly haphazardly-thrown-together looks, a welcome breather from the usual $10,000 couture gowns featured in the Italian glossy. In addition to plopping a plastic bag on Darya's head, Karl even put her in some Gap that smacks of our high school gym hoodie. Now that's really the way to shop your closet! Excuse us while we go rummaging through our drawers for some old sweats to turn into a crafty new top. (
