Spring is (sorta) in the air, which inevitably means it’s time for a cut and color. Indeed, something about “spring-cleaning” seems to apply specifically to our hair — change is, after all, most cathartic when it comes in the form of a quick snip and complexion-flattering highlights, right?
That was our line of thinking when we teamed up with Hairstory, the elite hair studio that’s home to the cult classic Purely Perfect brand. There, hairstylist extraordinaire Wes Sharpton and dreamy colorist Roxie Darling perfect and transform the manes of models, editors, stylists, and just about everyone else who seems to catch their eye. When together, the duo has a knack for bringing out the personality of whoever’s sitting in the chair — figuring out how to improve an overall look, whether it means small edits or great transformations.
We selected five lucky staffers to visit the studio to let their wildest hair dreams come true. For some, that meant finally embracing some form of unicorn hair. For others, it meant achieving the perfect, curly cut that they never thought possible. Click through to watch these women get transformed: Hopefully, it will inspire your next salon visit.
29Rooms — Refinery29’s magical art and fashion funhouse – is back for its second year, kicking off during NYFW, from September 9 to 11. We’re bringing our commitment to women claiming their power to life, through the event’s theme, “Powered by People.” To celebrate this sense of possibility, we’ve curated content that embodies our theme and pushes you to do more — start the conversations you want to hear, make change.
