Rag & Bone Mixes Up Fighter Pilot G-Suits And Lots of Glamour For Spring 2011

rag-and-bone-spring-2011-runway
There's no question that Rag & Bone has only just begun to scratch the surface of their design prowess. With each passing season, we begin to discover, more and more, how these two gentleman have very evolved tastes and ideas when it comes to fashion, personal style, and the young American woman. And this spring 2011 collection was no exception. Heading into more conceptual territory than ever before, David Neville and Marcus Wainwright gathered a virtual army of elegantly militaristic pieces. The duo claim Lawrence of Arabia, fighter pilot G-Suits from Russia, technological warfare as influences, which translated to intricate straps and hardware, high-tech netting, gauze, and lots of sheer layers that seemed to beautifully soften all the tougher edges. Amid this bold shift, there were still plenty of signature tailored jackets and bottoms that ultimately gave this higher-concept collection a bit more wearability, which, in the end, never hurts.
