Prada Keeps You From a “Who Wore it Better?” Catastrophe with the New PradaPrivate Sunglasses

The perfect pair of sunglasses are hard to come by. An ever crucial accessory for any fashion lover (sunnies basically turned Rachel Zoe into a brand, after all), by the time you go to the trouble of finding the right shape for your face and the best hue for your skin tone, you've got to worry about stepping out into the sun only to see a dozen others wearing the exact same glasses, or, the horror, spotting your models in Chinatown! Luckily, Prada has stepped in to ensure that this experience will never happen to you again. Taking a hint from personalized leather goods, Prada has designed the new PradaPrivate: Made in Prada sunglasses, which we got to peep last week. First, choose a color—either black, white or tortoiseshell. Then, select up to two charms per side, which are inserted into each arm of the frames. With letters (Carrie Bradshaw would die!) as well as symbols, the design is completely up to you. You can always buy additional charms later for a lil' shakeup, which means these glasses will keep you looking fresh for a long time to come. Voila! Sunglasses that are yours and only yours. Take that Canal Street.
Prada Private, available at Sunglass Hut, 605 Fifth Avenue (at West 50th Street); 212-759-3720.
