If you want to keep your commute to a minimum on Black Friday, we suggest you make tracks to the Old Town Boutique District's annual Black Friday bonanza. Last year's setup wasn't too shabby, but this year, the network of shops surrounding King Street aims to give the mall stores a real run for their money, with 23 stores opening at 6 a.m. and slashing prices by up to 30%.
Some of our fave Old Town standby stores are in the mix, including BeautyFull Boutique, Diva Boutique, Red Barn Mercantile, and The Shoe Hive. As the hours tick by though, the discounts will start to decrease — you'll score 30% off from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.; 20% off from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.; and 10% off from 10 a.m. to close. So, in short, don't procrastinate on your purchases. Even better? You can park for free on Friday in city-owned garages and at parking meters around town, so you won't have to worry about schlepping your loot home on the Metro.
