Make Room In Your Closet For Norma Kamali’s Futuristic Fall Collection

Hakaan, Blumarine, and YSL (sorry, we mean, SL) all took it techo for fall, with silvers, space-age shell tops, and shiny, shiny shoes. Adopting astro-aesthetics as well, Norma Kamali’s fall ’12 collection fuses staple shapes with Futurama features (in more of a Leela way than a Bender way, for the fans out there), by way of patent pants and metallic blazers.
As far as references go, there’s a medley of different decades in Kamali's newest designs, jumping from '40s furs to nods of mod — with '60s minis and straight-shaped shifts. Fame-worthy spandex make appearances in the lookbook, as does (what we assume to be) clothing that jumps ahead to 2020, including shiny silver puffer jackets with sleeping-bag stuffing. It might not be quite your cup of tea right now, but come colder days, this is exactly the cozy cover-up you'll be craving.
Jump ahead (way ahead) to preview all the designs to last through this season, and next.
