After nearly a month of Fashion Week madness and last night's evening gown circus at the Oscars, it was nice to see something a little more stripped down. We love the inaugural cover of
Fantastic Man
sister-mag, The Gentlewoman, which features a photograph of Phoebe Philo by David Sims laid out against a simple peach background with minimal cover lines. Inside is a profile of the Celine creative director, along with stories about artist Jenny Holzer, open water swimmer Lynne Cox, and editorial contributions from Louise Gray and Daisy Lowe. Editor-in-chief Penny Martin told WWD that the magazine was about showcasing "women that are just fantastic." We're not sure the word "gentle" best paints a picture of these female movers and shakers, but that won't stop us from snagging an issue as soon as it hits newsstands on March 22. (The Gentlewoman)
