Man Fired For NOT Wearing A Speedo

Sixty-one-year-old Roy Lester is suing the Parks and Recreation department in Nassau County for age discrimination, after being fired from his lifeguard job at Jones Beach for not wearing a Speedo. Roy's usual beach attire includes tight (but not teeny!) bike shorts, which he wasn't allowed to wear during the annual swim test (according to the policy, "boxers, briefs, or board-shorts" are acceptable). Apparently, 80% of Jones Beach lifeguards are over 40, and most changed into Speedos during the swim test when confronted. "There should be a law prohibiting anyone over the age of 50 from wearing a Speedo," says Roy. (NY Daily)
