John Lennon Inspires New Menswear Line

john-lennon-english-laundry
Lennon-heads, rejoice! Menswear brand Rock and Roll Religion is creating a new line called Designs Inspired by the Art of John Lennon by English Laundry. Featuring the artwork and imagery of the late John Lennon, the line will include shirts, knits, tees, blazers, jackets, and neckwear, all which retail at an affordable $30-$170. The menswear is supposed to look as if it were plucked straight from Lennon's closet in the '60s (e.g. Chelsea boots, tab shirts, and—oof—peace sign motifs), as evidenced from the round-collared button down that's furtively festooned with a spot of Liberty print in the collar. But is it just us, or do the pale-toned stripes look two pit stains away from making a cameo in Office Space? We're skeptical if Rock-God Lennon would have ever—pardon the pun—rocked the shirt himself. Here's hoping the rest of the line provides less squarish picks. (WWD)
