Sneak A Peek At A Textile Master’s Pretty Pieces

Stepping into Oakland’s gem of a shop Esqueleto, there’s much to gaze and gab about — from the bauble-filled cases to the art sprinkled throughout the space — it’s a curated medley of jewels and rustic pieces, which is what led us to discover East Bay textile artist Jess Feury.
We fell hard for her woven, mixed-material wall hangings that bedeck the Temescal Alley haunt, so much in fact that we were thrilled when the artist invited us to her Berkeley home and studio to show us what she has up her embellished sleeves.
Crafting hangings for newish textile gallery Ogaard Textile Works, Feury has whipped up some wondrous creations — and we’ve got the sneak peek, right here. “I chose a monochromatic palette for this collection to challenge the idea of subtlety in my work while playing with texture,” says Feury. Get to clicking for a preview of the show slated to open soon and be sure to mark your cals for Saturday, September 28 at 6 p.m. Deets here!
