Thousands Of Dollars Of Palladium Is Made Into Necklines At Hussein Chalayan

If you haven't hard of the term "palladium" outside of the boot brand, stadiums, ballrooms, or general arenas, it's the newest material to be deemed a precious metal. A gleaming white metal, palladium, is known to be very strong and very light, and also the shining centerpiece (literally) of Hussein Chalayan's latest collection, "Domisilent." Weaving it through the neckline of two evening dresses, Hussein took the palladium (also an inspiration for the collection) to literally create a mash-up of strength and lightness. Apparently, all this was done in conjunction with the very weirdly officious-sounding International Palladium Board, which "is dedicated to establishing palladium as the contemporary precious metal of the future." Judging from current market prices for palladium, we're judging that both these necklines are worth at least a couple thousand dollars. A precious metal, indeed.
