Look, sometimes you've just got to come out and say it how it is: Claire Boucher, aka Grimes, has begun making jewelry shaped like vaginas. The Montreal-based musician, who has become a bit of a phenomenon thanks to her ethereal sounds and otherworldly beauty, has given us a glimpse of her new molded plastic jewelry line via her Tumblr, Grimestyle.
Dubbed "Pussy Rings," the artist has been wearing these vulvic accessories around lately, and she promises there will be more to come. Having cast herself as an eccentric since she first appeared, she is adding Pussy Rings to her reference melding mien of third eyes, baby bangs, and a gothic Lolita style. It's hard to tell if Boucher is hoping to use this iconography to explore feminism, or if she's just using goth/femme/occult imagery for a jolt of shock value. We wonder what her necklaces will look like?
