Musical Muse: Brooklyn's Own Soul Sensation

Photographed by Nina Westervelt.
Don't know Grace Weber? Well, you should. The Milwaukee-born, Brooklyn-based singer has the soul of Aretha Franklin and the rasp of Amy Winehouse, which translates to an excellent retro-meet-modern mix on her new album, The Refinery (October 7). “Who's gonna save our souls?” Weber sings in her single "Oil & Gold." Well, Weber is certainly saving ours. Ahead, the soul sensation (photographed at Degraw Sound Studio) dishes on her first time in New York City, the inspiration behind her single "Perfect Stranger," and why she loves to call Williamsburg home.
