It’s official: Crop tops have made a comeback this summer, and your midriff is missing out on the trend because you’ve replaced after-work bikram with BBQ and bar tabs. Trust us, we hear you — just say "rooftop happy hour," and we’re the first ones to forget fitness. Turns out, we’re the perfect candidates for D.C.’s newest bar scene (or, ahem, barre scene).
A handful a new fitness studios are combing ballet barre moves with Pilates, cycling, and dance for a fresh approach to the gym routine that'll get your abs flat, stat. We've made it easy to get started by rounding up our favorite new combo classes that we think you’ll love — even though your neglected muscles will loathe them, at first.

B.Fit DC
This studio offers a mixture of dance, Pilates, and strength training in Logan Circle, and we love them all the more because they call their instructors barre-tenders.

The Bar Method DC
Here, classes incorporate dance techniques, isometric principles, and fast-paced interval training for quick, safe body reshaping.
