3.1 Phillip Lim Plays With Shapes and Sheers for Spring 2011

While many of our favorite collections hit on notes of playful and fancy-free, 3.1 Phillip Lim was all about complexity under the guise of simplicity. Layered garments with protruding panels blurred the lines between where one hemline ended and one waistline began. Beneath this novelty, however, was an underlying current of flawlessly tailored, pristine sportswear in taupe, khaki, cool gray, and ice blue. Simple, beautiful looks, despite the complexity of the blue print, left us in awe. Oh, and we're lusting pretty hard over the bags, too. And of course, the front row was as star-studded as they come (Kanye!)—check out our photos at the 3.1 Phillip Lim show.
