Crested Butte Film Festival boasted an impressive slate of original films for its ninth year on the fall circuit, and the program certainly upheld its commitment to advancing female voices both in front of and behind the camera. The Colorado town’s four-day experience played out in three prestige theaters, including the newly renovated Center of the Arts.
The festival’s central tenets were visible in its attendees, events, and film selection. From a picturesque opening day cyclethon to Refinery29’s Shatterbox Women in Film event, the festival's activities further showcase its dedication and interest in activism and the outdoors.
Ahead, we’ve rounded up our five favorite woman-helmed films from this year’s program that you need to check out.
