Just how does Netflix do it? By "it," I mean: How does Netflix routinely gather the nation's top talent for its properties? The streaming site is seemingly incredible at coordinating the schedules (and salaries) of Hollywood's best and brightest. Like, say, with Bird Box. The movie, released to the site on December 21, is a horror thriller about a woman named Malorie (Sandra Bullock) who is navigating a post-apocalyptic world. Beyond its fun source material — Josh Malerman's 2014 novel was inspired by The Happening — the movie has a stellar cast.
There are at least six Oscar nominations among the cast. One such nomination (for Bullock for The Blind Side) resulted in her taking home an Academy Award. The cast is both plentiful and talented, rounding out a movie that will likely end up being December's most talked-about film.
So, no, I'm not sure how Netflix managed to wrangle three Oscar nominees and several luminaries in one thriller. What I can do, though, is introduce each of them to you. Ahead, the Ocean's 8 of Netflix movies.
