Amber Rose, clad in last night's skin tight dress and carrying a pair of heels, is leaving a guy's house and met with nothing but positive comments. "Congratulations," says a passerby enthusiastically. "I respect that you enjoyed yourself last night," says a construction worker. Anything sound off yet? Yep, it's too good to be true in today's society — the scenes are part of her hilarious new Funny or Die video dubbed "Walk Of No Shame." On her stroll, the mayor even gives her a key to the city, telling her it's for her "confidence in the choices you make and your ability to celebrate your body." Though the video obviously is poking fun at slut-shaming in a humorous way, Rose is doing more than merely inciting a few laughs. With the video — as well as her VMA outfit which was painted with insults she's received, like “golddigger" and “bitch” — she is reclaiming the narrative that says women should be ashamed of their choices. She's taking a powerful stance against slut-shamers, but doing it in approachable ways that tie into pop culture. What could be more easily digestible than a funny video and a splashy awards show look? Slow clap for Rose, guys.
