Lana Del Rey “High By The Beach” Leaks & It’s A Scathing Breakup Song

The second single from Lana Del Rey's forthcoming album has leaked, two days ahead of schedule, and we are happy to report that we have reached peak Lana Del Rey. The track, called "High By The Beach," has been teased by the singer since August 4, when she posted the single's nautical cover on her Instagram. It's the lyrics that have us memorizing the track already though.
In the song Lana sings to a suitor with whom she's in a relationship she doesn't particularly care about. And she's none too shy about sharing her feelings while telling him goodbye. Lyrics like, "You could be a bad motherfucker/but that don't make you a man" and "The truth is I never bought into your bullshit when you would pay tribute to me/Because I know that all I want to do is get high by the beach." Ouch.

The sun-drenched music is very much in the vein of what we've come to expect from Lana's dark take on the SoCal sound, but this track has some whiskey mixed in with the salt water.
Lana's album, expected to be titled Honeymoon, is due out in September.
