Update: A federal judge has dismissed a Nebraska woman's lawsuit against all gays, the Advocate reported Thursday. When he threw out the case, Judge John M. Gerrard wrote, "A federal court is not a forum for debate or discourse on theological matters."
One 66-year-old Nebraska woman is determined to fight against LGBT equality any way she can, including filing a federal lawsuit against homosexuals. All of them.
According to the Lincoln Journal Star, Sylvia Driskell filed her suit, Driskell v. Homosexuals, as an "Ambassador for Plaintiff's God and his son Jesus Christ," to have the court determine whether homosexuality is or is not a sin.
Just to make sure no one escaped the suit's notice, as Towleroad pointed out, Driskell listed several plaintiffs in her suit: "Homosexuals, their Given Name Homosexuals, their, alis [sic] Gay." The lawsuit is comprised of a seven-page handwritten letter.
Obviously Driskell's case is missing some important details, like legal precedent, case law, or any specific defendants, but collecting testimony from every gay person in America would take a lot longer than it will for the Supreme Court to issue its ruling on marriage equality. That ruling is expected to come down in June.
