Chelsea Handler: I Was Almost “Cosbyed” Once

Chelsea Handler just offered up a (typically frank) opinion of Bill Cosby's sexual assault scandal: He's guilty. Handler and Nick Offerman are the cover stars of Esquire's April issue, in which the comedians have a frank chat about sex, relationships, and a range of other men-and-women topics— including getting "Cosbyed." (Yes, sadly that's a verb now). In the midst of it all, Handler confesses that it almost happened to her.  Here's the deal: About a decade ago, according to Handler, she and Bill Cosby were both in Atlantic City, doing stand-up in the same hotel. "At like three o'clock in the afternoon, someone from the hotel came down and said,'Oh, you know, Mr. Cosby would really like to meet you up in his hotel suite," she told Esquire. "And I thought, That's really weird... I don't want to go alone... I don't know him." She enlisted three guys she was with to come along. "And, thank god I did,  because now I know what would've happened if I went up there alone." Handler went on to say that she forgot about the incident entirely until other women started coming forward with their own Cosby stories. A friend recently reminded her of their visit to the Cosby suite, saying, "Hello! You could've been one of his victims if we weren't there."  "Yeah, so yeah," said Handler. "He's guilty." Read the interview in its entirety over at Esquire.
