Proenza Schouler Just Made Taxicab Confessions Look Glamorous

No matter the season, we can always count on Proenza Schouler to roll out the future uniforms of cool girls everywhere. So, when it came time to shoot the brand's spring '15 campaign video, designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez made a straightforward casting choice: Rather than recruit a crew of models, this time they decided to turn the camera on their muses. The clip stars a posse of dream girls such as Liv Tyler, Chloë Sevigny, Binx Walton, and artist India Salvor Menuez — all women who wear Proenza Schouler IRL, as well as when sitting front row at the brand's shows.  The "Legs Are Not Doors" video was shot by Harley Weir — yes, the same young photographer who lensed Stella McCartney's recent campaign — and offers a grainy, glamorous look into what really goes on inside the stars' heads. If you're getting voyeuristic '90s TV show vibes from the confessional clip, you're not alone. According to Proenza Schouler, the concept was inspired in equal parts by the provocative docu-series Real Sex, as well as hidden-camera shows like Taxicab Confessions. And, since each of the campaign stars was encouraged to be herself, you can't help but feel like you're snooping in on a private moment. This quality (plus the amazing clothes, of course) is exactly what makes the two-minute peek into their lives so captivating. Check out the clip above, and rest assured that the spirit of all those HBO shows you watched after your parents went to bed lives on.
