Google Celebrates Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Birthday

Lordy, lordy, guess who's turning, er...148. Spoiler: It's Laura Ingalls Wilder, the beloved author of the Little House on the Prairie series. If you happened to use Google today, you probably already knew that. In honor of the writer's 148th birthday, the search engine is today featuring a Google Doodle of two felt dolls modeled after pigtailed Laura and, we're guessing, Mary. Aw, Half-Pint, you've hardly aged a day.

Seeing as how the birthday girl isn't around to celebrate her big day

she died in 1957, three days after turning 90

it's up to us to honor her memory. The possibilities are endless: Churning butter, running around fields, making biscuits from scratch, hanging around with a pesty girl named Nellie even though she's super-mean, calling people Ma and Pa... 

Better yet, curl up with a pile of your favorite childhood books. It's the least you can do.
