Jimmy Kimmel & The Decemberists Turn YouTube Comments Into Songs

Every artist needs a great muse. Alexander McQueen had Isabella Blow. John Lennon had Yoko Ono. The Decemberists have, er, YouTube comments.

Last night the band dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to prove that even the most inane YouTube comment can sound lyrical and lovely when put to music. Yes, even "first!"

In a bit that might rival "Mean Tweets" as our new favorite Kimmel gimmick, the late-night host challenged the indie rockers to make songs out of comments regarding everything from cute pandas eating grass to Kim Kardashian's butt.

Suffice to say, we'll never read a spammy comment about making good money working from home without humming along. We're not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Either way, the video is hilarious. Watch below.
