At Sunday night's 72nd Golden Globes, George Clooney received the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award. As such, he made a short speech to show his gratitude. Clooney managed to strike all the right chords in talking about independent films, Robin Williams, his wife Amal Alamuddin, and the recent attacks in Paris that have prompted "Je Suis Charlie" support around the world.
"Thanks for keeping small films alive. Big ones do fine. It's the little ones that need an audience," he said while thanking the Hollywood Foreign Press. Clooney also remembered Robin Williams in his speech. "I have no idea what kind of hardware Robin Williams took home. But I do remember 'Seize the day boys. Carpe diem. Make your lives extraordinary,'" quoting Williams in Dead Poets Society.

Most heartwarming perhaps was the way he talked about Alamuddin. "It's a humbling thing when you find someone to love," Clooney began. "Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn't be more proud to be your husband." Check out the full speech below.
