Here’s Exactly When You Should Be Online To Find Love

Unless you're entering 2015 happily shacked up, it's possible that you've got online dating on your to-do list for the year — or at least a resolution to "go on a date that isn't terrible." To assist you in your quest, the team at dating website PlentyOfFish analyzed data from some three million users to find the specific time at which the most singles are online, and the verdict is in. Drop whatever you're doing at 5 p.m. EST on January 4, 2015, sign into your online-dating account (or finally create one), and get mingling — that's when PlentyOfFish, at least, will be busiest.
When POF asked users what they planned to do on January 4, however, online flirting wasn't on everyone's agenda. Of those polled, 26% reported that they'd be watching Netflix, and 24% responded that they'd be "recovering from their New Year's hangover" (we certainly won't judge). POF users are prioritizing love in 2015, though. Over half (56%) stated that finding a "special someone" would make them happier than more money, more free time, or career advancement. January could be these users' key month, too: POF reports that online daters are 15% more likely to enter relationships with matches they've met online in January than in any other month. (Maybe what they're seeing through those rose-colored glasses is Valentine's Day looming on the horizon.)
