Of Course Chanel Does Holiday Makeup Better Than Everybody Else

Do you have your holiday makeup on lockdown already? Not so fast, my friend. The looks from Chanel's Métiers d'Art show are about to rock your red-lips-and-silver-shadow world.
The models' faces were the perfect contrast of sultry and sweet. Their eyes were dusted into a smoked-out cat-eye using Chanel's Quadra Eyeshadow Palettes in Tissé Rivera (out in January) and Intuition. But, instead of the usual swipe of black along the lashline, the girls sported blocky liner in a shimmering champagne — specifically Chanel's Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Or Blanc.

The combination of two geometric shapes and the contrasting colors creates a duality that is as beautiful as it is fascinating. And, it's beyond flattering: A stark-white liner would have been hard for many skin tones to pull off, but the gilded white (accented with a touch of gold shadow) takes it from possibly awkward to totally chic. The juxtaposition is also a genius way to jazz up your typical smoky eye. It's subtle, but still high-impact.
This is one look we'll definitely play around with as we get ready for our holiday parties. Now, may we suggest a festive hairstyle to match your new, super glam makeup?
