Tom Ford lipsticks are some of the most coveted in the industry. Gorgeous colors, a dreamy application, and a long-lasting finish add up to one luxurious experience. So, we always meet announcements of new additions to the portfolio with breathless excitement. And, today is no different.
Boys and girls, there's about to be a new lipstick line in town. As WWD reports, the designer will soon release his Lips & Boys collection of 50 baby-sized (or clutch-sized, as he puts it) tubes. Yeah, the name threw us off a bit too, but the story behind it is surprisingly touching. Each of the shades honors a man, past or present, in Ford's life — like Addison, Ford's first crush; Rory, his best friend; and Richard, his hubby.
As for the colors, 36 are new, while the other 14 are from previous or current seasons. They range from violets and plums to metallics and light pinks. According to WWD, Ford's best-selling predictions include: Tomas, a coral; Matthew, a coral pink; Flynn, a light pink; Giacomo, a deep rose; and Patrick, a muted coral-pink. The ingredients are a combination of soma-seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter, and chamomile flower oil.
