Kerry Washington is clearly a woman who understands the power of a great coat. After all, Olivia Pope, her Scandal alter ego, made the white trench iconic in just one season. And, Washington embraces the statement coat while off-duty, too.
In New York yesterday, prior to her appearance on The View, Washington wore a boxy, blazer-style cocoon coat with an abstract, ombré print. Which sounds busier than it is. The overall effect, with her sleek Louboutin stilettos and Scandal-ously short black dress, is as sleek and pulled-together as anything noted tailoring fan Olivia Pope would wear — albeit in a more fashion-forward way.
The only thing that could make this outfit better is a pair of gloves to match. And possibly a generous glass of Château Antoine ’91. Whether dealing with #OperationRemington or facing off against Whoopi and Rosie(s), a gal's got to calm her nerves somehow.
