If there's one thing we covet even more than her character's Givenchy dress, it's her quirky Upper East Side apartment — an idealized bachelorette pad that predates Carrie Bradshaw's nearby digs by nearly 40 years. But how much would most people be willing to pay to live like Holly Golightly?
Apparently not $10 million. Located at 169 East 71st Street, the townhouse featured in Breakfast at Tiffany's originally went on the market last spring; now, its owners have dramatically cut the price by $2 million. So, what comes for the hefty price tag — other than superfan bragging rights?
The 3,800-square-foot, four-floor abode features four bedrooms, five bathrooms, three fireplaces, a solarium, and a backyard. And, while only the exterior was used in the film, it has a white bedroom that is totally Golightly's style and a living room the perfect size for throwing one of her infamously wild cocktails parties (albeit, minus the bathtub couch).
Sure, the striped awnings are missing from the first floor windows, but the iconic facade looks just like it did in 1961 — complete with the olive green front door. The only downside? As far as we can tell, there's no Cat included. (Curbed)
