Kate Upton Is Not Sure What A Mom Jean Is (Thanks To Mrs. Upton)

You can call Kate Upton many things, but one thing she's not is boring. As one of the few models in the world that can as easily appear in an American flag string bikini on the cover of Sports Illustrated as she can in a Dolce & Gabbana stunner on the cover of Vogue, who can pose in front of lenses for both photographer Mario Testino and film director Nick Cassavetes, and elicit a reaction from every single member of your family (even your recluse uncle has something to say about her rendition of the Dougie). Yes, Upton quickly shot from video girl to bona fide supermodel in a few short years.

With that stardom obviously comes endorsements and campaigns — her latest being a partnership with Express, the mall brand that's swiftly making a comeback with its 9-5-9-appropriate pieces at affordable price points. As the brand's ambassador and face of their new fall denim line, Upton revealed that she's been wearing Express since high school. "I grew up on five acres, so I was constantly wearing jeans and tank tops. It was a big culture shock to move to New York and not be walking around in flip flops, shorts, and a tank."
But, even with her new big-city surroundings, don't expect Upton to get too experimental with her jeans. When we asked her whether or not she plans on trying out the Mom Jean, Upton replied, "What are those? Is that a high rise?" After we described them, Upton set us straight: "Personally, my mom was killing it with her clothes, so she never wore jeans like that. I don't have a routine anywhere in my life, so when I do find one — even when it comes to jeans — I don't usually stray off the path. But, I appreciate it on other people! Who knows? Maybe eventually you guys will break me down, and I'll have to try it."
Hear that, fellow Mom Jeaniuses? Pressure her enough, and maybe next up we'll get a Kate Upton Urkel Dance video coming down the pipeline.
