16 American Cities Where Women Out-Earn Men

Frustrated by the omnipresent gender-wage gap? Leaning in not proving as successful as you may have hoped? Consider relocating to one of these 16 cities. The American Community survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau determined that these few, proud, and awesome locales all have one special thing in common: females that earn more than males.

The ladies of Jacksonville, NC, are the top over-performers; they make 127.12% of their male counterparts' wages. Californian cities have the largest presence on the list, with Indio coming in second. That's right: The home of Coachella is also home to women earning 114.64% of what men do. We knew we liked that place for a reason.

While the 16 cities are fairly geographically diverse, they all have their somewhat limited population size in common. The Daily Mail notes that the population of the largest metropolis on the list tops out at 150,000. Oh well, baby steps. (Jezebel)
