When it was announced last year that the highly anticipated drama Foxcatcher was being delayed an entire year, no one knew what to make of the startling decision. The Bennett Miller-directed film was widely considered an Oscar contender, and delays in Hollywood are never a good a sign. Then it premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival, and well, Foxcatcher is once again a frontrunner to take home major hardware come fall, after earning unanimous raves on the Riviera.
The true-crime thriller tells the story of Dave and Mark Schulz, Olympic gold medalist wrestlers and brothers, who come under the unsettling spell of the multimillionaire eccentric John Eleuthere du Pont. Steve Carell is unrecognizable in his role as the creepy du Pont, and already an early favorite to for a Best Actor nod. But, in the brand-new trailer, it's Channing Tatum who shines as Mark Schultz, the unwitting object of du Pont's affection. Tatum's latest onscreen appearance saw him getting fratty with Jonah hill in 22 Jump Street, so if you're completely startled by the final moment in this minute-long clip, you're not alone. Trust us.
Foxcatcher hits theaters on November 14.
