"I want to be the Refinery29 of dogs," says Suzanne Donaldson, the founder of MrsSizzle.com.
We couldn't be more flattered.
To be clear, though, she didn't say that to us. Donaldson, a former Glamour photo editor, spoke Thursday to Women's Wear Daily, explaining that her new canine-centric site is a "curated dog show about art and awareness."
At present, Mrs. Sizzle is a collection of snapshots from fashion photographers like Patrick Demarchelier, Richard Phibbs, and Brigitte Lacombe, and contemporary artists Laurie Simmons, Mickalene Thomas, and Malcolm Morley. And, it wouldn't be an art-dog site without some William Wegman.

Oddly, though, it's not all dogs. "Cindy Sherman Does Not Have a Dog" reads the headline of a recent post, accompanied by photos of the artist's pet parrot tearing up a loaf of bread.
WWD notes that Donaldson relied on her industry contacts to help build the site and its content. Mrs. Sizzle also includes interviews with people active in the rescue community, but its focus isn't on charity. Donaldson wants to turn the site into a business, and has approached Net-A-Porter with the hopes of curating its pet products.
Best of luck to Donaldson. It's a ruff world out there. (WWD)
