Last week's Scandal left us with two big questions. We will start with the most obvious — who got shot? This week's episode took no time answering that question. R.I.P James Novak. But, they left us guessing when it came to our second question. Who was Jake initiating into B613 last week? We don't believe Jake's monologue throughout the episode was pointless. Now, on to this week's recap:
James is dead. We honestly didn't expect it to be James. That seemed a bit too obvious with Cyrus' heartfelt moment last week. But, maybe sometimes the obvious choice is actually the most surprising.
Jake isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. We are pretty sure we would have never seen Papa Pope burying someone or getting caught murdering someone. He would order someone else to do it.
Can David set aside the white hat? Who will be our moral compass?
"Even though you're a Republican, you have a very hot mouth." Well, that is one kind of pick-up line. Seeing how James and Cyrus started is making us feel all the feelings. Who would have guessed James was the initiator? And, what a coming-out that dance was.
Jake admitted to Olivia what happened. We didn't expect that secret to come out for a few episodes.
"Everyone is worth saving." Rowan should act like a dad more often. Sure, his advice wasn't happy. He would be the dad to say that everyone is a monster, but he made a good point. Perhaps, even monsters are worth saving. It was touching, and we want more of it.
Mellie and Andrew should always be alone. The chemistry between the future VP and the First Lady is intense. We love seeing one of our favorite characters come alive.
Abby called David "my David." We often see Abby as only this work-centric, sarcastic woman. But, tonight we got to see her as a woman who loves her career and her man.
It is about time. Huck and Quinn kissed! The two of them have always had something. We can't wait to see where they go in the future. Maybe Huck will get her back on team gladiators before Olivia takes down B613 with Quinn in it?
That last scene. We teared up. What are they trying to do to us?
