Photo: REX USA/Rob Latour.Girl of the moment Shailene Woodley got the Vogue treatment. Alright, well, it's Teen Vogue, but still. She and her forest-elf aura fill the pages of the publication's April issue and talk everything from co-star hookups to the bitter taste Twilight left in her mouth.
"Twilight, I'm sorry, is about a very unhealthy, toxic relationship," she told the magazine. "She falls in love with this guy and the second he leaves her, her life is over and she's going to kill herself! What message are we sending to young people? That is not going to help this world evolve." Preach, Shai! It is for sure not (but we bought into it anyway, whoops).

In case you've been living under a rock for the past few months, Woodley is the star of yet another YA novel-to-movie adaptation à la Twilight. Divergent, however, doesn't have the "woe, is me" kind of romance. Like The Hunger Games, the romance is not completely vital to the plot line — or, at least, a viewer isn't devoted to waiting for a hookup to happen the whole time. Rather, audiences are likely to spend this movie's run-time watching Shailene's Tris triumph over obstacles like a champ.
Ironically, romance seems to be the actress' forte. The Descendants, The Spectacular Now, and the forthcoming The Fault in Our Stars each feature a strong love story.
Woodley connects the dots in her Teen Vogue interview and says: "I haven't had time to think about a relationship! I literally have not had a boyfriend in almost five years. I've never even hooked up with anybody I've worked on a movie with." Though, she doesn't go into what has happened in her life after Divergent.
"After The Descendants, everybody was like, 'You've got to ride the wave!' And I was like, 'You ride the wave and it eventually crashes on the shore. That doesn't work out! I'm going to just sit here and paddle board,'" she explains in the interview. Words to live by — that paddling seems to be working out pretty well, so far.
