But, all that intensity is accompanied by a few genuine moments of joy (and, no, we're not just talking about Lupita Nyong'o's heavenly outfit). Of course, we knew Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis would provide the necessary cuddly cuteness to make us go aww like nobody else. We just didn't know they'd serve it up so early in the night.
But, the two clearly couldn't help themselves. In a moment of romantic bliss captured in between photo calls on the red carpet, Sudeikis pulled out his phone to snap his own picture of his dear (and very pregnant) fiancée. Of course, we see celebrities made up and decked out all the time, but this is a sweet reminder that this is still a very special occasion for anyone involved — just stepping on that carpet is a pretty huge deal.
