Nasty Gal’s VP Predicts Major Shoe Trends For 2014

As far as collections are concerned, Nasty Gal's Shoe Cult is basically an infant. The label launched in August this year — that's not even six months ago, folks! — yet the Sophia Amoruso-led footwear line hit the ground running and will debut 40 to 60 new shoe styles every month in 2014. So, with approximately 480 to 720 sets of steppers to anticipate, Sarah Wilkinson, Nasty Gal's own vice president of design, played fortune teller with WWD. And, lovers of the thick heel, you're going to want to pay attention.
"There will still be a lot of heavy soles, like lug soles and creeper soles, on platform and flatform styles," says Wilkinson. In addition, she predicts that we can also expect see-though detailing to be on the downswing, while over-the-knee boots will remain on the up(per leg). Most key, "color is going to be really important," the VP explains. Bold shades and non-dainty heels? 2014, we have a good feeling about you. (WWD)
