If we turned on the radio one day only to hear a sample of our voice in a Kanye West song, we would undoubtedly be shocked because, first of all, how did Kanye come across that random, 14 -year-old recording of our band "The Steven Spielburgers"? And second of all, well, why would we be listening to the radio anyway? We have Spotify.
Apparently, Ohio man Ricky Spicer does listen to the radio, and he was none to pleased when he heard the vocals he had recorded as a 12-year-old singer in the boy band The Ponderosa Twins Plus One. Spicer, now 56, insists that Kanye never received permission to use a sample from the song called, oddly enough, "Bound" and is suing West, along with Roc-A-Fella Records, Island Def-Jam Music, Rhino Entertainment, and Universal Music Group for what we can only assume is millions upon millions of dollars. Hopefully, this will help fund The Ponderosa Twins Plus One reunion tour, because man, that hook. Check out the original "Bound" in the clip below. (The Daily News)
