Okay. Brace yourself: We've got some bad news. According to Victoria Beckham there isn’t going to be a Spice Girls reunion anytime soon. And, it’s all because of her.
The ex-singer turned sartorial superstar just isn’t interested in taking a step back in time and reforming the band. The Metro reports on an interview Beckham gave to French Vogue, in which she explains her negative feelings toward the 2008 reunion tour. “I realised it was finished for good in 2008, when we reformed for our reunion tour. The day of the concert at Madison Square Gardens in New York, the other girls spent time relaxing in bed, shopping and in the gym…I arrived with three kids in tow in a really tight dress because I’d been in meetings all day…I put my bags and the children down, I picked up the mic and I sung. It should have been the best moment of my life, but I just wanted to be elsewhere.”

There's not any bad blood between Mrs. Beckham and her former Spice sisters though. "It wasn't a lack of respect for the girls or the audience, but the passion just wasn't there. By contrast, in my new career, the passion grows every year. I still want more." It is easy to see how a forward-moving fashion career and pop stardom just don’t mix. Just look the brand’s steady stream of successes: a stunning e-commerce platform, ground-breaking collaboration with Skype, and an increasingly desirable ready-to-wear and accessories collections.
But, the Posh Spice persona hasn't vanished completely. In fact, the specter of Posh allows the fashion designer to withstand the slings and arrows of the paparazzi’s glare. “The other girls would sing and dance on tables with no complexes," she explains. "I wasn’t confident enough to do that...I had to invent a character and I thought of that: staring at people and pouting. My insecurities helped me create the character in a way. Nowadays, it’s like a barrier that comes back whenever I go out in public. That’s the way fame has affected me.”
We hope this multitalented woman keeps on playing the fame and fashion game for seasons to come. And, maybe one day agrees to a Spice Girls reunion. We'll be there — maybe even wearing a Victoria Beckham dress. (Metro)
