It's not that we don't love it when Angelina Jolie's busy sashaying down the red carpet or making films — because, hello, have you seen how amazeballs Maleficent looks? It's just that we're completely in awe of the projects she takes on when she's not in Hollywood movie star mode. Whether it's inspiring us with her words at the Governors Ball or crisscrossing the globe in the name of charity, the lady seriously knows how to pull at our heartstrings. If being Team Jolie is wrong, we don't want to be right.
Naturally, her latest venture is hardly anything to sneeze at. The actress will join British Foreign Secretary William Hague to cochair a global summit on combating sexual violence in war zones. Due to take place in London next year, the summit will see representatives from 137 countries tackling issues of rape and sexual abuse in conflict zones, a cause that Jolie has long fought for as a UN special envoy for refugees.
"This summit is long overdue," she explained during a press conference last Thursday. "The goal must be an end to impunity, and justice and respect for the survivors of these horrendous crime. We are committed to see that through no matter what it takes, and I hope other countries will take part and live up to their responsibilities.”

Kudos to Jolie and Hague for taking on such an important crusade. We're truly impressed. Sorry, Brad, but it looks like there's a new power couple in town.
