A Curved-Screen iPhone? Yes, Please

For once, Samsung might be ahead of Apple. A month ago, we reported that Samsung developed the world's first curved smartphone, and now it seems Cupertino is rushing to catch up. Bloomberg's Tim Culpan, citing a source familiar with the plan, reports that upcoming iPhone models will have bigger screens with curved glass and pressure-sensitive sensors. "Two models planned for release in the second half of next year will feature larger displays with glass that curves downward at the edges," writes Culpan. The size of the screens will jump up from the current 4 inches to 4.7 and 5.5 inches. That's similar in size to Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 phablet, at 5.7 inches. The sensors that can distinguish different levels of pressure might be incorporated in later models, but not these.
Culpan's source declined to be identified, as these plans still haven't been made public. The person did say, however, that Apple will likely announce the new phones in the third quarter of next year. (Business Insider)
