Perfumes are a particular passion for many of us at R29, from Britney Spears to the Olsen Twins to Marc Jacobs' latest offering. We simply can't get enough of the scented stuff. And, that's why we're so excited about the news of Liberty's latest scent. Actor Richard E. Grant told the Daily Telegraph he has been working on a unisex fragrance with a top "nose" in Paris, and will be selling this scent in London's favorite department store next year.
The Iron Lady actor was prompted to pursue his passion for perfume by his close friend, the accessories designer Anya Hindmarch. She suggested he try his hand at the craft after she observed him smelling every object around him.
We're definitely most intrigued by the intoxicating ingredients list. Lime, clove oil, mandarin, and tobacco are all there, as is the heady top note of marijuana. Now, we can't promise the note will deliver the high one expects from this herb, but as with other much-loved-fragrances that use it — Demeter Cannabis Flower and Fresh Cannabis Santal, it does add a seductively musky finishing touch that lingers on the skin.
All other details of the perfume are under wraps, but the actor did discuss his ideas for the bottle. In keeping with his British Heritage theme, the packaging will be "pillar-box red" with vintage calico bunting as a feature. Looks like we may have found our next signature scent.
