There's no better way to achieve masculine-meets-magpie, quirky-meets-classic style than by following in the footsteps of Jenna Lyons. But, while we usually find that the J.Crew president leads by example, in honor of the opening of the store's first London location, Lyons put down all of her most important fashion notes into one list to live by. Specifically, we mean the 10 commandments of style, according to the sartorial star herself.
Some of our favorite words of wisdom included Lyons' take on balancing the quirky ("Sometimes you are in the mood for a white shirt – that's fine") and why she's not interested in trends ("We're not about clothes you buy because they're on trend, we're about beautiful pieces you buy because you want to wear them every day"). Of course, keeping in line with her most loved looks she's worn over the past few years, Lyons also made it a point to say that masculine silhouettes are timelessly chic, and she provided a reminder on why we should never be afraid of colors.
