iOS 7 Release Available Today, And It’s a Beauty

UPDATED: Apple fans, today is the day. At some point this afternoon, Cupertino will make available the new iOS 7 release, along with its snazzy new features, to all of its compatible devices in the United States. If Apple follows its usual pattern, the free update will come somewhere around 10 a.m. Pacific time. Global users will see a rollout should see the update around the same respective time. The new version is compatible with iPhone 4 and newer, the latest-generation iPoud Touch, iPad 2 and the iPad Mini. Of course, iOS 7 will also come preinstalled on the new iPhone 5S and 5C, which hit Apple shelves Friday.
Remember a couple things before you update. First, back up your device before you install anything, just in case something goes wrong and your data gets corrupted. You can do this either by syncing with iTunes or backing up to Apple's iCloud. When the update is available, you should see a notification on your device. If not, head to Settings > General > Software Update. If iOS 7 is available, you should see it there. You won't be asked to pay for anything; this update is free for all existing users with compatible devices. Once it's downloaded, just bask in its bright, minimalistic beauty. The Safari tweaks, the Multitasking changes, and Air Drop all promise to deliver. The camera is getting filters, Siri is getting smarter, and Photo organization looks a lot more impressive than the current iteration. Look out tomorrow as the update will likely go live after the Apple iPhone 5S event in the morning. Then check back here for all the updates on the new device! (International Business Times)
